porn-ucopia, part 3

The thing with Internet porn is that it's not free. Yes, Avenue Q says that's what the Net was built for, but these days, you have to pay membership fees if you wanna see quality pictures or videos. Otherwise, better arm yourselves with a good endpoint security software (o daba, I'm not using the term "antivirus"... HAHAHAHA!), among others, lest you get riddled with annoying pop-ups, or have your identity stolen by the so-called Russian Business Network.

Good thing there are generous-people-slash-pirates willing to upload these treasures in free services like Rapidshare or Google Groups. Or torrent sites. Or even in free blog services. Of course, even these "free" services have a price ("Web threats" come to mind, given that they're what we encounter at work day in and out), and if you count the overhead costs such as electricity (because you need it to download and view them)... well, do the math.

(Side note: apparently the Philippines is one of the top porn viewers in the Net? Heehee. So much for Catholic guilt.)

I've been closely... erm... monitoring some of these (MM) sites for some time now, mainly because of their obvious accessibility. The fact that most videos available are direct to the point (i.e., no annoying "plots", although as I mentioned before, cheesy story lines can be quite amusing) and that you can select which "scenario" you can download is definitely a plus. Way better than, say, buying a full retail-version video then finding out you only like the first scene.

I'm currently using this one NSFW (as in!) search portal and it proves very helpful with the so-called "monitoring". Noticeably, the "amateur" sites are the most popular because they're supposedly unscripted -- just horny people getting it on. I use the term "amateur" loosely because for someone like me who have been... erm... analyzing porn waaay back, familiar faces are bound to pop out. Unless of course they were "discovered" by the major studios because of their Net infamy. Which is what these "amateurs" wanna do in the first place, right?

Another thing about "amateur" videos is that some (or most) of them are selling the idea that these guys are "real" men. As in straight. Which of course, is bound for endless discussion on terminologies ("can you still say that he's still straight if he's doing gay sex?") and versatility ("can you still say that he's still straight if he flip-flops and whimpers like a girl?"), among others. *shrugs* Hey, gay men have had that straight guy-fantasy at some point in their lives. The idea that some of these objects of fantasies could be indirectly fulfilled by a small amount of cash (hence the term "gay-for-pay"), huge amounts of alcohol, or by the mere fact that some are just curious and really horny they're willing to stick theirs anywhere could be orgasmic. LOL!

Anyhoo... ooh! Uniformed men. *drool*
