snap judgement: slumdog millionaire

Fan-freakin-tastic. Yun lang. ;-) That is, despite it being high brow-ish. No wonder this movie (based on the novel Q&A) is generating Oscar buzz -- this year's little movie that could, a la Juno (that explains the high brow-ish... LOL!).

Of course, I wouldn't have expected less from director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, Millions). Gosh I'm sounding like Eric na. Ew.

• Highlights: Dev Patel (Jamal). Hehe. And the stories that explained how Jamal knows the answers. Of course the happy ending helped. And that Bollywood dance number at the end.
• Lowlights: The dark mood/setting. I get it, the character's a "slumdog" and we as viewers should see how slumdogs live. But it gets depressing.
