the new face of superman

This picture of Brandon Routh as Superman has been unveiled recently to serve as our first official look for the upcoming Superman Returns, which opens June 2006. (click on the thumbnail for a slightly larger pic)

Notice the slight changes in the super-suit, from the slightly muted colors, the smaller "S" logo, to the added insignia in the belt buckle. Personally, I wouldn't mind much about these changes, as the skin-tight body suit is said to stretch only over Routh's buff bod (read: sans the extra fake muscle pads)! Talk about drool-worthy.

Superman Returns also stars Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane and Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor.
