cover art

Scholastic finally released the cover art for the last Harry Potter book. Aww. Can't wait!

There are, of course, the British cover arts (one each for the children's and adult editions). Oh well, I started my collection with the Scholastic one so might as well end it with one. ^_^

Here's the jacket summary (from UK children's edition):
Harry has been burdened with a dark, dangerous and seemingly impossible task: that of locating and destroying Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes. Never has Harry felt so alone, or faced a future so full of shadows. But Harry must somehow find within himself the strength to complete the task he has been given. He must leave the warmth, safety and companionship of The Burrow and follow without fear or hesitation the inexorable path laid out for him.

In this final, seventh installment of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling unveils in spectactular fashion the answers to the many questions that have been so eagerly awaited. The spellbinding, richly woven narrative, which plunges, twists and turns at a breathtaking pace, confirms the author as a mistress of storytelling, whose books will be read, reread and read again.

t.r. knight comes out

The Grey's Anatomy star (and fan fave... and my personal McDreamy *swoon*) confirmed that he's gay in a People magazine exclusive:
"I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there," Knight tells PEOPLE in a statement. "While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me."
Again... *swoon* ^_^ Although I'm sure the news shattered a lot of fantasies to pet his sweet-puppy GA character George, (*ehem* to Pia and Lei). Then again, 'twas not that surprising... Hm. Does it matter anyway? I'm pretty sure that his loyal fans will still support him (including yours truly, who's whooping for joy right now -- fantasy fulfilled! HAHAHAHA!). He is a good actor, after all.

Not to mention a-dork-able.

westlife's mark feehily comes out

Mark_1 Apparently, this is sort of old news already. Nevertheless, the full story of his coming out -- exclusive from The [Daily] Mirror -- can be read here.

Some excerpts from the said article:

WESTLIFE star Mark Feehily...opened his heart yesterday to reveal that he is gay.

The 25-year-old pin-up said: "I want people to know the truth. I am gay and I'm very proud of who I am.

"I'm not asking for sympathy, or to be a role model for someone else.

"I simply felt it was the right time to tell the truth."

Mark, who is in a relationship with singer Kevin McDaid, 21, said: "In the past I haven't felt the need to say anything about my sexuality.

"But I want people to know I'm very comfortable with who I am."

That explains why he dyed his hair blonde before. *snigger* Seriously, from one gay guy to another (and a Westlife fan at that), I'm very happy for him. ^_^ And jealous, since he's got a hubby for himself. Darn.

il divo debuts at no. 4 in billboard charts!

56b7549168_3 Il Divo, Simon Cowell's (yes, that Pop/American Idol judge) pop-opera quartet -- and a personal favorite of mine -- debuted at No. 4 in the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling more than 146,000 copies of their self-titled first album in its first week of release in the US. The said feat also made history of sorts, as their album achieved the highest US chart entry (in SoundScan era) for a debut album from a UK-signed act. (read the full story here)

Il Divo also became No. 1 in the UK, where it was first released in 2004. I now wonder if, give these string of sucesses, there'll be even a slim chance for the Divos to perform here.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
